FAT TUESDAY - MARDI GRAS
New Orleans has its Mardi Gras, in Venice it’s known as Carnivale and Hastings has “Fat Tuesday” – that’s English for Mardi Gras. Hastings Fat Tuesday is all about appreciating our local music scene, having a good time and raising some money along the way for local charities.

Check out this site to see what’s happening and where. The main highlights are the Fat Tuesday night itself on Feb 21st with 8 Hastings pubs playing host to no less than 16 bands between the hours of 8pm and 11pm followed by a great after show party and don’t miss the more family orientated Preservation Sunday Umbrella Parade on the 19th Feb. It’s time to dress up head out and see Hastings at its best, Spring is just around the corner!Preservation Sunday and Fat Tuesday are free events with musicians, sound technicians and helpers giving their time and talents for some small expenses. Our chosen charities this year are the Seaview Project and our local Hospice St Michaels. To boost the fundraising aspect of what we do we are suggesting a voluntary donation of £2 per person be given to the charity collectors at ech event.
